Everyone thinks of Cronus in one way and most of those people don't know he whole story about him. The only facts about him are the obvious ones. Like how Gaia saved Zeus from Cronus and that he ate his children. The facts that people don't know is why she saved Zeus and why he ate his children. Gaia saved Zeus from being eating by Cronus and he ate his children so they don't take his spot on the throne. Once people get to know Cronus a little better they will realize like I did that pretty much everything he does he has a reason for it. Your outlook on Cronus can say a lot and so can your perspective. Put your self in his shoes your kids will take your throne as they get older but what would you do? Would you eat them? No. If i were Cronus I would ask for something in return like I give you the throne you give me the richest house out there. Come to an agreement. Since he has options yet chooses the wrong choice that's how people get a bad view of him. He struggled to figure out a way to keep his pride and got frustrated when his kids over ran him. This shows that nobody's life is perfect no matter how hard you try. My children want the throne and I had no way of stopping them I had no choice i ate them. I thought since my husband ate all the children i have a chance to save the few I had left so I took Zeus went to the island of Crete for him to be raised there by a nymph and the people would sing over Zeus so Cronus wouldn't hear his cries. Later on when he was all grown up I was proud of Zeus for giving him the pocient I Gave him to reverse his stomach and get my children back.
